Parents and citizens' association

Welcome to the Greystanes Public School parents and citizens' association (P&C).

The P&C provides an environment which enables parents and citizens to meet together to determine the needs and aspirations of the school community. In NSW, parents and citizens' associations are governed by the NSW Education Act 1990.

Membership of parents and citizens' associations is open to all members of the school community: parents, teachers and citizens. Each association has its own constitution, and has the right to formulate and amend its own by-laws.

A parents and citizens' association may be incorporated or unincorporated. The Greystanes Public School P&C was incorporated on 6 November 2009.

On these P&C pages, you will find information about relevant meeting dates and other important matters relating to the school and its community. Our P&C has its own Facebook page.

Parents and citizens' association

Greystanes Public School has a very caring and dedicated group of parents who are involved in our children's education and the wider school community. Our parents and citizens' association  welcomes new members.

Our P&C provides a canteen facility and uniform shop to the school community.

We hold many fundraising events throughout the year to support the school in acquiring educational resources, as well as improving the school's learning environment (such as air conditioners in all classrooms). These could not happen without the tireless efforts from our volunteers. All students benefit from these voluntary efforts.

Monthly meetings

Monthly meetings are held at 7:30pm in the school's staffroom on the first Wednesday of each month.

It is important to have some input into discussions and decisions that affect the students and this is a wonderful opportunity to meet with other parents, the principal, executive team and teachers.

Our P&C does not expect you to commit yourself to every meeting because of your work and/or family commitments. Your skills and knowledge and, of course, your spare time would be greatly valued by our P&C. Come along to a monthly meeting when you have some free time.  If you have any questions, please either post them on the P&C Facebook page or send an email to gpspnc@gmail.com.
