NSW Department of Education: Digital Device Student Workshops

 
Students in Stage 3 participated in 3 days of workshops led by teachers following the one-teach, one-assist co teaching model.
 
  • Workshop A: set the scene for the new policy, introduced students to the concept of devices at school vs devices at home and draws on existing knowledge. This  helped teachers to understand the level of previous knowledge students hold and what ongoing support may be needed to develop safe, responsible and respectful behaviour while using digital devices.
  • Workshop B: gave students some new skills to use to help them be safer, more responsible and more respectful when using digital devices.
  • Workshop C: The objective of Part C was to create some posters utilising alogrithmic structure, to reinforce safe, responsible and respectful behaviours. Students then reflected by thinking how they will use devices moving forward.
