At the end of Term 2, 2021, Stage 3 invited the Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 classes to participate in our Zoo Keeper Expo. The stage 3 students were tasked with researching and designing a suitable animal enclosure. To accompany their enclosures, the students were required to create a Zookeeper talk discussing the adaptations their animals have made to survive, and how their enclosures meet their survival needs.
Special thanks to Mr Shiels for his inspiring talk earlier in the term, sharing his expertise in the area of animal conservation, and designing appropriate enclosures for safety and animal wellbeing.
The K-2 students had a great time visiting the Stage 3 classes, complementing their learning about zoos and farms earlier in the year. They also provided some great feedback to the Stage 3 students.
This event exemplified the benefits of community collaboration.
