Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Greystanes Public School offers a warm and engaging start to school through our comprehensive orientation program. Children and families are welcomed with events such as the Teddy Bears’ Picnic and Spring into School sessions, leading into a three-day School Readiness Program designed to help students feel confident, connected and excited for the start of Kindergarten.
What a wonderful day we had wearing our comfiest pyjamas to school - all for a great cause! Thank you to our students, staff and families for supporting The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Together we raised funds to help children and families in need, and we had so much fun doing it. Thank you to the P&C for organising Pyjama Day and to everyone who got involved — our school community really does make a difference.
Our Kindergarten students have reached a wonderful milestone — 100 days of learning, laughing and growing brighter every day! To celebrate, we embraced the theme 100 Days Brighter with colourful activities, creative dress-ups and joyful reflections on all we’ve achieved so far. From counting to 100 to sharing our learning, the day was filled with pride, sparkle and smiles. Here’s to continuing our journey — shining brighter with every step!
Stage 2 students had a fantastic day exploring Sydney Zoo, where they were able to get up close with a wide variety of incredible animals. From observing native Australian wildlife to discovering exotic species from around the world, students were fully engaged in hands-on learning experiences that complemented their classroom studies. The excursion provided valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding of animal habitats, adaptations and conservation — all while enjoying a fun and memorable day together.
Our Big Peeps, Little Peeps peer support program fosters strong connections between our Year 6 and Kindergarten students. Through regular activities and shared experiences, our Year 6 leaders act as positive role models, helping their younger buddies feel safe, supported and confident at school. The program builds a sense of belonging, encourages empathy and teamwork, and celebrates the caring, inclusive culture of our school community.
"The teachers genuinely care and go above and beyond with kindness and encouragement." — a parent of Greystanes Public School
